Yo
This season I am going to run the Firepit dirt park differently from previous years as I can’t carry on like I have been with previous seasons because it is taking up many hours of time.
My aim is to have the dirt jumps running sweet all season and to keep on top of all the maintenance of the pump track and dirt jumps. In previous years the dirt jumps get more and more ragged as the season goes on and left to me to fix them when I could.
This year we’ve had a lot of help from some diggers from Nelson to get the jumps faced up and running, Cheers guys.
Currently in Ngatimoti there is only me running and managing the dirt jumps
Which involves, digging, watering, weed eating spraying etc which is a hell of a lot of time.
Water is really important for the dirt jumps, the reserve does not have a supply, we can only get water from the local school, if we lose the water from the school we will have to close the dirt jumps. This water is only available after school hours.
My aim is to open the dirt jumps open twice a week
– I will be running every session on a “No dig No ride” format
So if you turn up to ride be prepared to dig, weed eat, sieving, facing up the jumps and fix after session.
– Sorry guys but I won’t to be opening up the jumps on request
At present I am looking at the below times, but I will confirm on Facebook and Twitter the day before
Tuesdays from 6.30 till dark
Sunday afternoon from 1pm to 4ish
Cheers
Damian
